CONDITIONS TREATED

Who can benefit?

Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI)

Leaking when you run, jump, sneeze, cough or lift. Common after childbirth — and very treatable.

Urgency Incontinence & OAB

A sudden, overwhelming urge to urinate that is difficult to defer. Stimpod neuromodulation is highly effective for this.

Chronic Pelvic Pain

Persistent pain with no clear structural cause. Stimpod vagus nerve and sacral plexus protocols provide significant relief.

Postnatal Recovery

From 8 weeks post-delivery. Assessment of pelvic floor, diastasis recti and safe return to exercise.

Perimenopause & Menopause

Hormonal changes that accelerate pelvic floor dysfunction. Red light therapy, Stimpod and targeted rehab address both symptoms and underlying changes.

Prolapse & Pelvic Organ Prolapse

Conservative management and symptom reduction. Linzi works alongside your consultant where surgical opinion has been sought.

C-Section & Perineal Scar Tissue

Scar adhesions affecting core function, pelvic stability, bladder or bowel. Treated with radial shockwave therapy.

FAQs

Is there a clinical examination?
Yes — a thorough but gentle assessment is central to getting the right result. Everything happens at your pace and with your full consent. Nothing will happen that you haven’t agreed to. This will not be an internal examination.
I've tried Kegels and they haven't worked. Is this different?
Yes. Up to 50% of women cannot activate their pelvic floor correctly without guidance. Linzi will assess exactly how your pelvic floor is functioning and create a programme that actually addresses the problem — not a generic exercise sheet.
How soon will I see results?
Most women notice meaningful improvement within 4–6 weeks of starting the right programme. Chronic conditions or those involving scar tissue may take a little longer, but progress is typically consistent from the first few sessions.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can self-refer directly. Simply call us on 0141 846 0295 or book online at optimalphysio.co.uk. No waiting list, no referral letter required.
Is this only for women who've had children?
Not at all. Linzi treats women at every life stage — from young athletes to those navigating perimenopause and beyond. Pelvic floor dysfunction affects women regardless of whether they have had children.
What if I'm embarrassed talking about this?
This is completely understandable — most women feel this way before their first session. Linzi specialises in this area and creates a completely private, non-judgemental environment. There is nothing you could say that would surprise her.

“I’d been told running and weight lifting were no longer options for me. After six weeks of treatment with Linzi, I’m back doing both. Something I genuinely never thought would be possible again.”

I recently completed a six-week course of Stimpod treatment with Linzi, and I wanted to share just how transformative the experience has been.
Before starting, I was dealing with a triple prolapse. Another pelvic floor physio had told me that running and weight lifting were no longer options for me. As someone who relies on running for my mental and physical wellbeing, that was devastating. I’d resigned myself to the idea that things simply wouldn’t improve.
From day one, Linzi was exceptional. She answered every question with patience and clarity, and immediately put me at ease. The treatment is completely non-invasive, and each session left me feeling deeply relaxed.
The change after just six weekly sessions has been remarkable. I’m far more aware of how my pelvic floor feels day to day — I can genuinely sense when things are improving. I feel stronger, more supported, and more in control of my body.
I’m back to running. I’m back to weight lifting. Things I never thought would be possible again.

“I hadn’t at any point worried about urgency. My shoulders weren’t tense. I wasn’t clenching. It’s quick, it’s simple and it works. Please don’t put it off the way I did.”

Before this year, I’d never heard of Stimpod. What I did know was that I needed to do something about my bladder urgency — I just kept. finding reasons to delay it.

I had issues when running, skipping, sneezing and coughing. The lack of confidence this created meant I would only run or exercise with people

I felt comfortable with — ones who’d humour my need for several pre-run “safety pees” or a quick toilet stop mid-route. Once moving, I’d spend entire long runs clenching, just trying to get through without an accident.
My biggest fear was that the treatment would be invasive or uncomfortable. It was neither. Linzi explained exactly what would happen from the very first conversation, and the sessions themselves were only thirty minutes — relaxed, straightforward, something I
genuinely looked forward to.
I noticed a difference after the first two sessions. After my third, I’d gone for a run and hadn’t once worried about needing the toilet. My shoulders weren’t tense. My lower back wasn’t tight. I hadn’t been clenching at all.
I’m now running more than I have in years. The urgency I lived with for so long is gone. Please don’t put this off the way I did.
